Scheduled for November 9 to 12, the national edition of Portugal Air Summit (PAS), named Portugal Air Summit Take Off for 2024, returns to Ponte de Sor Aerodrome, positioning itself as the launch and preparation moment for the international format of the summit. Due to its nature and ambition, this requires a broad organizational effort and concentration of investment.
Therefore, November 9 and 10, Thursday and Friday, will be marked by knowledge sharing and closer collaboration within the Aeronautical Cluster of Ponte de Sor. This includes a conference program focused on the future of ongoing projects in the region and the country, as well as the projection of the international edition, featuring the official presentation and disclosure of thematic blocks.
The weekend of November 11 and 12 will be dedicated to recreational activities, with the sky over Ponte de Sor being the main stage. The program, promising to attract thousands of enthusiasts and curious individuals interested in aerial experiences, will be announced shortly.
Recognizing the importance of the aeronautical sector for the city of Ponte de Sor, the Alentejo region, and Portugal, Portugal Air Summit is now acknowledged as the largest event in the aeronautical and aerospace sector on the Iberian Peninsula. In the last edition alone, PAS brought together 122 partners, 100 exhibitors, and generated more than €150 million in business during the event days.
Due to this success, the 2024 edition will mark the beginning of a new growth cycle for the project, with the summit taking place on a biennial and international basis. It will have a strong exhibition component, targeting both national and international stakeholders, and will focus on the convergence of scientific, industrial, academic, and business areas.
Portugal Air Summit, held since 2017 and in partnership between the Municipality of Ponte de Sor and the event promoter ACIPS – Commercial and Industrial Association of Ponte de Sor since 2018, is part of a strategy to position, promote, and develop the sector in the region and the country. It has already directly contributed to attracting investment, generating employment, and economic dynamism, contributing to the settlement of families and reversing the desertification cycle in the Alentejo region.
