Education
To support professional development, the City Council has established protocols with higher education institutions with an aim to maximize the potential that an anchor project such as the Ponte de Sor aerodrome is intended to represent for the region and the country. Such protocols aim to bring the Ponte de Sor aerodrome and the companies based closer to education institutions, inside and outside the Alentejo, with teaching and research activities in the aerospace sector.
Instituto Politécnico de Portalegre (IPP)
Higher Education Institute of the District of Portalegre, with competences in the areas of engineering, civil protection, and languages. IPP currently offers language courses in Ponte de Sor and supports, at the faculty level, the undergraduate Civil Protection Technician Course taking place at the municipal aerodrome, in partnership with the Polytechnic Institute of Castelo Branco.

Instituto Politécnico de Setúbal (IPS)
Higher Education Institute of the Setúbal District, with competence in the area of Mechanical Engineering and Aeronautics. At the Ponte de Sor municipal aerodrome, IPS offers an undergraduate Course in Aeronautical Production.

Universidade Atlântica
Private university owned by the Carbures group (production of composite components for airplanes). Atlântica offers robust training and education in aeronautical engineering, and is strongly connected with the aeronautical indystry. In Ponte de Sor, Atlântica offers a post-graduate programme in Aeronautical and Technology Production Management, as well as tailor-made training for companies in the sector.

Universidade de Évora
Like Ponte de Sor, the city of Évora and its University are partners of the municipality in the Alentejo Aeronautical Cluster. The presence of Embraer and other companies in the industry led the university to create specializations in the area.

Important University of the interior of Portugal, which provides the oldest Aeronautical Engineering degree in the country. UBI offers practical internships in Ponte de Sor, as well as possibilities for future partnerships with a view to specialized training programs.
