The Ponte de Sor Municipal Airfield hosted the final of the CanSat Júnior competition this past Friday and Saturday, a project developed by ESERO Portugal/Ciência Viva with the support of the Municipality of Ponte de Sor.
More than seventy lower secondary school students from across the country, organized into fourteen teams, tested the satellites they built — each the size of a soda can.
Each CanSat was equipped with sensors and an antenna to communicate with a ground station. The mission consisted of measuring air temperature and atmospheric pressure and transmitting the data back to the ground station.
The winners of CanSat Júnior were awarded an internship at ML Analytics, a Portuguese company specialized in data analysis using Artificial Intelligence.
More information about the 5th edition of CanSat Júnior coming soon.
